Breckland Training Services is brought to you by Breckland Council, a district local authority nestled on the Norfolk/Suffolk border.
BTS was launched in 2013 to deliver primarily an external training and development service. Due to its continued success BTS is being developed into an 'arms length trading organisation', allowing it to trade with both the public and private sectors across the country as well as in subject areas outside the normal scope of a standard local authority training organisation.
With a permanent staff of 3, and a wide range of training associates on which to draw, BTS are seeking options available to move to new offices, with dedicated training rooms, allowing more in-house training to take place.
The training on offer ranges from 1-2-1 coaching sessions to large team building and/or management exercises The training is not just aimed at the public sector - it is wholly relevant to the private sector, however large or small (we currently deliver 5 local authority management challenges per year across the country and have recently developed them further to make them relevant across all sectors). Whilst we have a wide range of the more routine training courses we can also design, develop and deliver bespoke courses at either our facilities or, if that is inconvenient, at yours!
Meet The Team
Richard Wills (MD)
Richard has worked in intense customer facing roles right across the public sector for the past 13 years, in organisations such as HM Treasury and Local Government Offices. Richard has written and delivered bespoke learning packages for major public sector clients including Norfolk Police, Stockton Borough Council, Worcester City Council and the Local Government Association. As an experienced and current public sector employee, he understands the issues and obstacles facing people who operate in customer facing roles and uses his charismatic and engaging style to coach and nurture delegates towards personal improvement. Richard has a CMI Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management & Leadership, holds several training accreditations and is a qualified Master of Ceremonies.
Dave Senior (Training and Operations Manager)
With an extensive 30+ year background in both the public and private sectors as well as time spent self-employed running his own business, Dave has experience in a broad mix of mentoring, one-on-one specialist training, line management and leadership development - his skills and abilities in these fields were recognised, in 2008, with his appointment as a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. Dave also has lead responsibility for the design and delivery of Breckland Training Service’s Team Building event (Mission….Team Build) and project management responsibility for all aspects of the Local Authority Challenge.
Ellie Lence (Office Manager)
Ellie enjoys the fine things in life and cites this as the main reason why she jumped at the opportunity to work for Breckland Training Services. With 4 years’ experience in customer service, including time in Breckland Council’s own contact centre, she is responsible for the day-to-day organisation of the training programme (and the Managing Director!), delegated budgetary responsibility together with the provision of office support to the entire team.
